How C4C Works
Coaching4Change is helping to bridge the student support gap in under-resourced schools and districts. We train and place a group of local, talented, and diverse college students in school settings to support students in need with more individualized attention. This concept improves adult-to-student ratios and allows educators and administrators to be more successful in their roles. We call our college students “Mentors,” regardless of their day-to-day roles working with students and families.
The C4C Program Team works with district leaders and principals to create a customized support plan for their students and families using C4C College Mentors. College Mentors play various roles including: classroom support, behavior interventionist, small group leaders, family engagement, after-school facilitators, and summer school aides.
All C4C College Mentors are recruited, interviewed/screened, and matched to the appropriate school partner site by C4C full time staff to ensure quality. Each College Mentor will participate in mandatory background checks and fingerprinting according to each partnering school district policy.
